Room 6 reviews
Magician, Vas Kolovsky, and his
‘Be Bright, Eat Right’ performance!

Last week, on Friday, Vas Kolovsky came to Puketapu School.  He came to perform magic and tell us about being healthy.  The whole school got to watch.  Boy, he was funny!  Vas Kolovsky did his clever and inspiring show in the school hall.  In one bit he said a tomato is a vegetable, but it’s really a fruit.  Every night on our dinner plates we should have grains, dairy, protein, fruit and vegetables.  I really liked the bit Vas Kolovsky turned a bunch of flowers into butterflies.  All the pupils at the school were so amazed, except some boys.  They said that they knew some of the magic.  It was probably one of the best shows I’ve ever seen!

Last Friday, when Room 6 had concluded our Body Inquiry, Vas Kolovsky – a magician – came to our school with his ‘Be Bright, Eat Right’ performance.  He introduced us to ‘My Plate’.  The five foods on the plate were: fruit, veges, proteins, grains and dairy.  He also taught us about vitamins and minerals.  Vitamin K stops you bleeding, Vitamin C helps you see in the dark like a cat, and Vitamin D protects your skin.  My favourite tricks were ‘the box on fire’, ‘the rabbit’, and ‘the hat’ trick.  He was here to teach us about healthy eating!  Vas was daring, clever, witty, confident and sparkly.  In the show he said a tomato was a vege!  I think he needs to work on that one a bit.  Even we know anything with seeds is actually a fruit.  It was an energetic show!
